Baldock Services, A1(M) Junction 10
Baldock is the last service area on the Hertfordshire A1(M), right where the motorway ends and the road becomes the A1. Where is it, and what comes next?
Where it is
The services are at Junction 10 of the A1(M), the junction with the A507. Northbound the junction is signed for Stotfold and Shefford; southbound for Baldock and Stotfold. Because the site is off the junction, it serves both directions.
Who runs it
Baldock services is operated by Extra, which runs eight service areas across England. Extra also runs Peterborough services, further up the A1(M) at Junction 17.
What is there
We have not yet confirmed Baldock’s facilities from Extra or another reliable source, so we do not list them here. Extra’s sites typically have fuel, food and shops, but check before relying on a particular brand.
Traffic around Junction 10
The southern A1(M) is at its quietest here. The Department for Transport counted 49,176 vehicles a day between Junctions 9 and 10 in 2025, and 35,262 at the Junction 10 end and on the road north of it — well under half the 93,845 between Junctions 8 and 9. Lorries are 6.9% of traffic between Junctions 9 and 10, the highest share on the Hertfordshire section.
